We’ve just received our new Agilent Technologies Cary-60 UV-Vis spectrometer, complete with fiber optic coupler. By utilizing a set of optical fibers, a custom KF-40 dual fiber optic feedthrough and a remote sample holder, we can now make absorbance measurements both inside and outside of our MBraun double glovebox. Together with our recently purchased Pine Instruments WaveNow potentiostat, custom USB feedthrough, and spectroelectrochemical cell, this new optical configuration allows our lab to make optical, electrochemical and spectroelectrochemical measurements under rigorously air- and water-free conditions. Our innovative design attracted the attention of Agilent technical specialists and will be featured at upcoming internal development and design meetings.
